When I first meet a new client, I hear a lot of: “I want to talk about… It’s key that I say… I will highlight this in particular… For me, it is very important to tell them about…”
Me, Me and more Me.
When you prepare for your next meeting, presentation or job interview, think about what your audience finds important to hear instead of what you find important to voice. You may have to let some of your planned content go and you may even have to recalculate your route when you realize that your audience is more interested in something you didn’t originally plan to focus on, but this is the secret to our success in motivating our audience and reaching our goals.
